In the early 1980s when HRH The Prince of Wales moved to the Highgrove country estate in Gloucestershire, no one could have imagined that it would also be the beginning of the story of one of the UKs leading premium organic food brands.

The Prince had long been interested in principles of sustainability and believed organic farming was the most effective means of creating a truly sustainable system for farming and food production; to protect the health of the soil, the environment and wildlife for generations to come.

The Duchy Originals brand was officially launched in 1992 when the first (and now famous) Oaten biscuit went on sale. Today there are hundreds of Duchy products and all profits go to charity.

Elderflower Bianco Summer Refresher A long refreshing drink for high summer which also makes a good pitcher drink. Mix it in the proportions 1:3. Serves 1.

You’ll need: 2 x 25ml shots of Cinzano Bianco 150ml of Duchy Originals Elderflower Refresher Cucumber slices to serve

Half fill a tumbler or large wine glass with ice. Pour over the Cinzano Bianco and elderflower refresher and stir. Serve with 2 or 3 cucumber slices.
