Chapman Hill Olive Oil

Chapman Hill is located at Glenaroua, Victoria on the northern slopes of the Great Dividing Range. The eight hectare grove is situated on the ironstone slopes of Chapman Hill. Elevated 300 metres this aspect takes full advantage of the cold winters and long, warm, dry summers required to produce high quality, fruity oils.
Established in 1999 this small olive grove is an ideal location for growing the high quality and full flavoured traditional Italian varieties Frantoio and Leccino.

The grove also has a small planting of New Norcia, a variety that evolved at the New Norcia Mission in Western Australia and is fast gaining reputation as Australia’s own Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The subtle characteristics of the soil and climate where olives grow provide distinct variations in flavour each season.

The Chapman Hill 2006 single varietal releases are reflective of the season. Last year the trees experienced cold winter winds, followed by a long hot and dry summer. This has produced vibrant oils which have an intensity and pepperiness similar to the Tuscan oils. These lively yet smooth oils are not for the faint hearted and you will be amazed at the strength of the green olive aromas.
